INTRODUCTION TO THE UNIVERSITY :-


The Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Vedic Vishwavidyalaya (MMYVV) was establish by the Act No.37 of Madhya Pradesh Government Vide gazette notification no 573 dated 29 November 1995. The University head office is at - Brahmasthan of India, Karaundi, Distt- Katni, Madhya Pradesh. The University is reputed to disseminate quality education. The University is an affiliating university with jurisdiction spread over entire Madhya Pradesh. His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Ji was the first Chancellor of the University. Presently Bramachari Girish (Dr. Girish Chandra Varma) is the Chancellor.

MMYVV has been recognized and included in the list of Universities. Maintained by the UGC under section2(f) of the UGC act, 1956. It is also a member of Association of Indian Universities. The University offers Ph.D., Post Graduate Degree/Diploma, Graduate and Diploma/Certificate Programmes in Vedic Science, Education, Management and Computer Science. D.Ed.,B.Ed. and B.P.Ed. courses are approved by National Council of Teachers Education[NCTE].

University has established its Directorate of Distance Education In Vijay Nagar, Jabalpur and is initially operating through its 8 centers across M.P. The Directorate of Distance Education has introduced B.A., B.Com., BCA CIC and Post Graduate Diploma in Audio Programme Production(PGDAPP). These courses are approved by Distance Education Council (DEC). MMYVV, is a IGNOU partner Institution for Scheme of Convergence of open & Distance Learning(ODL) & Conventional systems. Under this scheme 24 selected programmes are offered to the students at Bhopal, Indore and Jabalpur campuses of MMYVV in MP. MMYVV students can now qualify for dual degrees in the same academic year by combining one regular and one convergence course concurrently. To further assist students audio-visual rooms are being setup in select campuses so that students can listen to educational programmes broadcast through Satellite and Internet as also exploit multi-media for learning.
